As a dieter, have you encountered the Cabbage Soup Diet, South Beach Diet, Atkins Diet and Hollywood Diet? These are actually diet programs that can help people to lose weight. Most of them are made popular through the endorsement of famous celebrities.

Indeed. There are a lot of diets that offer effective weight loss in the market. However, the problem is that most of these diets are fad diets. Just what is a fad diet anyway?

The definition of fad diets can be very subjective to different people. Moreover, many people consider a particular weight loss program as a fad when that particular diet program is a poor one. Others would define fad diets as a weight loss diet program that is made popular often too quickly and also fall out of favor too quickly as well.

Based on these definitions, we can say that a fad diet is a popular diet program that might or might not work for a dieter. To expound on this thought, not all deters have the same requirements when it comes to weight loss. Often times, a particular fad diet may work for a certain dieter but might fail on another dieter. This is due to the fact that every dieter has a different biochemistry. In order for one to be able to find the best fad diet, he or she might try several others first before arriving to a conclusion.

On the other hand, it is also not just to say that all fad diets are failure. In fact, most people who follow a certain fad diet do lose weight after some time. However, due to the fact that fad diets are not permanent but are just quick fixes, a dieter usually goes back to being after quitting the diet program.

All in all, a diet program that can give you permanent weight loss is by means of eating a well-balanced meal and exercising regularly.
